Rain 'n' Fish

"Okay, so, I'm standing up to my knees in water, in a pond in Elwynn Forest, holding a fish.  I can see a Murloc licking his lips, and something slippery crawling up the inside of my thigh.  What is the point of this?"

Tanaris

Tanaris is a deadly place, filled with many dangers!  In the light of day, the scorching sun can wilt solid iron, and by night, it has been said that the cold could freeze a fire in mid flicker.

On my journeys through the area, I was attacked by many beasts, including hyenas and rocs.  If you're not careful, and if you don't keep your wits about you, you'll fall prey to the wilds of this desert.  At one point, I was so tired and overwhelmed that I had to take a rest next to this unusual looking rock:

Happy New Year '09!
[info]drathaen
I'd like to wish everyone a happy new year. My wonderful partner and I watched the midnight fireworks from Dun Morogh, taking some time out to play with our new remote-controlled cars and to drink some of the fine brew on offer.

Then, after a quick ride through the Deeprun Tram, we joined the party and celebrations at Stormwind City. A hearty hello to everyone there!

In the end, I got drunk and ended up dancing up on a keg in the main square of Stormwind City's trade district, alongside SerenityGirl, a kindly Night Elf I met.

I don't remember much after that, but I woke up in the nearby inn. A good time was had by all!

The Temple of Atal'Hakkar
[info]drathaen
Hi Folks,

Today, we visited the Temple of Atal'Hakkar. Strange name that. The locals call it "Sunken Temple", apparently. I can understand why... I can barely pronounce Atal'Hakkar!

While my friend Hyane and I visited the Temple, we met up with an old chum, Rodget. We got one of the local unliving trolls to take a photo. Rodget is the thin guy in the middle:

It was good to see him again. He'd been busy, worshipping Jammal'an the Prophet. I can only imagine the stories he could tell, if he could talk.

Take care,

Horseback

This is me and my new horse:

Isn't she beautiful! It took me ages to develop enough of a reputation with Stormwind City before they would sell me one of their horses, but in the end, it was worth it.
(A tip to anyone of the Alliance looking to improve their reputation with Stormwind City: don't even bother with the repeatable quests. As far as I know, "The Lost Supplies" in the Swamp of Sorrows for Quartermaster Lungertz is the only repeatable reputation quest for Stormwind City, and it's a massive migraine-like pain. At only 25 reputation per run, it would take days of consistent playing to make enough reputation. Instead, I recommend a much easier and saner (yet still lengthy) approach. Travel into Northshire Valley (Northern Elwynn Forest, just East of Stormwind City) and do all the really low level quests there. There are a few, and they'll likely not earn you any experience (unless you've just started), but the reputation earnt is excellent. You won't see any yellow exclamation mark symbols over the non-player-character's heads, so you'll have to mouse-over each one that you see until your mouse cursor turns. Once you've finished in Northshire, travel south and do the quests in Elwynn Forest. Once you've cleared those out, make sure that there are no quests left in Westfall, Redridge Mountains, Duskwood, the Wetlands, Arathi Highlands, Southshore and lastly Stormwind City. Although it can be a little more tedious, you may want to check each quest that you pick up, to ensure that it actually gives Stormwind City reputation. Thottbot is a good source of information; just scroll down and look at the "Rewards" section (for example, A Meal Served Cold, which lists Stormwind +500). While the lower level areas will usually give reputation with each quest, higher level areas (and Stormwind City itself) don't yield so many quests that return reputation.)
